SureTect™ Cronobacter Species PCR Assay

SureTect Cronobacter Species PCR Assay protocols are designed to be simple while producing repeatable, accurate results for production environment samples and dried infant formula (including dried infant formula supplemented with probiotics).

Enriched samples are pipetted into pre-filled lysis tubes, along with Proteinase K, before incubation to lyse any bacterial cells present in the sample and release their DNA into the solution. The lysate is then loaded into the SureTect Cronobacter PCR tube to re-hydrate the preloaded PCR pellet which contains all of the necessary components and reagents for PCR, including a probe, primers and DNA template for the internal amplification control (IAC). There is no need to vortex or mix the sample. The PCR tubes are then sealed, loaded into the Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ PikoReal™ 24-well Real-Time PCR Instrument. The PCR run is started with the SureTect Software. After completing the run, interpreted results are clearly displayed and can be reported, stored, printed or downloaded as required.

All assays in the SureTect System portfolio (for detection of Salmonella species, Listeria species, Listeria monocytogens, E. coli O157:H7 and Cronobacter species) can be prepared and run together for Real-Time PCR detection using the SureTect PikoReal instrument and SureTect Software.
