STK38L (also known as NDR2) or Nuclear Dbf2-related protein is a serine/threonine kinase in the subgroup of the AGC kinase family. STK38L act as novel pro-apoptotic kinase that is activated by RASSF1A/MST1 in response to Fas receptor stimulation and promotes apoptosis. STK38L is mainly involved in the regulation of structural processes in differentiating and mature neuronal cells and it is highly expressed with highest levels observed in the thymus. Recombinant full-length human STK38L was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
