Catalog number: R62414

Use Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ PathoDx™ Respiratory Virus Panel Control Slide along with PathoDx Respiratory Virus Panel (RVP) kit while performing direct immunofluorescence tests. Respiratory specimens (nasopharyngeal aspirates or swabs) are tested for the presence of viral antigen. Culture isolation/confirmation is the standard method for most clinical virology laboratories.

The Negative Control Reagent contains fluorescein-labeled murine antibodies which do not react with the viral agents.

  • Ready to use - Prepared reagents
  • Easy to store - Store at 2-8°C
  • Easy to interpret - Uninfected cells will stain red due to the Evans blue counterstain in each staining reagent

Negative Control Reagent (Red Cap) is one dropper bottle containing 10.0 mL of fluorescein-labeled purified murine IgG antibodies that are non-reactive with any respiratory virus, and Evans blue counterstain in a protein-stabilized buffer solution, with 0.098% sodium azide as preservative.

Each control slide has eight wells and each well is clearly marked with the type of virus-infected cell that is on the slide. One of the wells contains uninfected LLC-MK2 cells and the slide is fixed in acetone.
