Gentamicin (gentamicin sulfate) is a water-soluble antibiotic drug originally purified from the fungus
Micromonospora purpurea. Gentamicin acts by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and promotion of cell death in susceptible bacteria.
Using GentamicinGentamicin is effective against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and is used for the prevention of bacterial contamination in cell cultures. The recommended working concentration ranges from 0.5 to 50 μg/mL. We offer a variety of
antibiotics and antimycotics for cell culture applications.
