La solución de SDS al 10 % UltraPure™ es una solución acuosa premezclada que contiene dodecilsulfato de sodio al 10 % (SDS). SDS es un desnaturalizante de proteínas utilizado en electroforesis en gel de poliacrilamida para determinaciones de peso molecular. Se utiliza para disociar complejos ácido nucleicos-proteínas en protocolos de extracción de ADN, para interrumpir las membranas celulares y para preparar soluciones de prehibridación e hibridación. La solución SDS al 10 % UltraPure™ está filtrada y lista para usar.

Why do solutions containing SDS form precipitates?

SDS is a detergent used to denature proteins leading to disruption of cell membranes and dissociation of nucleic acid-protein complexes in DNA and RNA extractions. It tends to come out of solution at concentrations of 10% or greater, especially at low temperatures or in high-salt buffers. SDS can be resolubilized by slowly heating the solution to 65°C with slight agitation.
