N-Hydroxysuccinimide is used for improved amidations in the carbodiimide method. It is also used to activate a carboxyl group and reacts with amine to form amide. It is involved in the preparation of N-hydroxymaleimide-styrene copolymer. Further, it finds use in analytical chemistry. As an additive, it is used in the carbodiimide method for improved amidations and peptide couplings.

Aplicaciones
La N-hidroxisuccinimida se utiliza para mejorar las amidaciones en el método carbodiimida. También se usa para activar un grupo carboxilo y reacciona con la amina para formar la amida. Participa en la preparación de copolímero de N-hidroximaleimida-estireno y se usa en química analítica. Además, se utiliza como aditivo en el método carbodiimida para mejorar las amidaciones y los acoplamientos peptídicos.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua, dimetilformamida, alcoholes y acetato de etilo. Insoluble en éter frío.

Notas
Higroscópica. Sensible a la humedad. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, cloruros ácidos, anhídridos ácidos y bases fuertes. Almacenar en lugar fresco.
