The Thermo Scientific™ LInspector™ CC Thickness Measurement System is specifically designed for measurement of lithium-ion battery electrode thickness during the calendering process. It incorporates the latest confocal chromatic, optical non-contact technology and delivers unprecedented accuracy, repeatability, and dimensional resolution. The confocal system provides real-time, closed-loop feedback for roll gap and coating uniformity, which reduces waste and improves coating consistency. Its non-contact optical method helps ensure long service life, stable measurement at high line speeds, and maintenance-free operation even in demanding production environments.

Calendering involves compression of the applied electrode coating to precisely control mechanical properties and adhesion to the substrate. The LInspector CC measurement system addresses the need for continuous, in-line electrode thickness measurement during the calendering process. Combining exceptional sensor accuracy with extensive reporting capabilities, it allows manufacturers to responsively control the characteristics of finished electrodes. The result is consistent dimensional accuracy and performance, with minimal downstream processing disruption.

The LInspector CC system builds on our long and distinguished heritage in gauging technology. Specifically designed for electrode thickness measurement during calendering, it incorporates the latest confocal chromatic, optical non-contact technology to deliver unprecedented accuracy, repeatability, and dimensional resolution. Its non-contact optical method helps ensure long service life, stable measurement at high line speeds, and maintenance-free operation even in demanding production environments and conformance to cleanroom specifications.

The LInspector CC system is a compact complete system for easy integration. It is comprised of an integrated linear unit that includes motor control, a compact bus terminal box, an automatic calibration unit and a multi-touch PC with pre-installed software. The entire system is powered via a 24 V source.
