Invitrogen™ SuperScript™ V Reverse Transcriptase (RT) is a next-generation MMLV reverse transcriptase designed for fast, reliable first-strand cDNA synthesis. Building on the advanced performance of the SuperScript™ IV reverse transcriptase, SuperScript V RT combines high sensitivity, thermostability, and processivity with improved resistance to oxidation and greater workflow flexibility.

SuperScript V RT supports reliable cDNA synthesis from low-input RNA as well as highly structured, GC-rich, degraded, and inhibitor-containing samples.

Features of SuperScript V Reverse Transcriptase include:

  • Broad RNA input range—supports cDNA synthesis from 100 fg to 5 μg of RNA
  • Robust performance with challenging RNA—reaction temperatures up to 65°C help transcribe highly structured and GC-rich RNA
  • Fast cDNA synthesis—complete first-strand cDNA synthesis in as little as 1–10 minutes
  • Improved resistance to oxidation enhanced reagent stability supports ambient shipping and room-temperature storage for up to 6 months
  • Flexible workflow—room-temperature reaction setup and stability of assembled reactions for up to 24 hours

SuperScript V RT is well suited for RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, gene expression analysis, and other applications requiring high-quality first-strand cDNA synthesis. Its enhanced reagent and assembled-reaction stability provides additional flexibility for routine, high-throughput, and automated workflows.

A DTT-free, animal origin–free formulation combined with reduced cold chain requirements further simplifies reagent handling and supports more sustainable workflows.
