Description

Employed as a nucleobase incorporated into biological nucleic acids. Guanine is suitable reagent used to investigate the mechanism of electrochemical oxidation of guanine and adenine using a glassy carbon microelectrode and cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry. It may be used in the preparation of mixed-sequence peptide nucleic acid (PNA) monomers.

Solubility
Insoluble in water. Soluble in ammonia-water, KOH solutions, dilute acids, and 1 N NaOH (0.1M).
