Bordetella Selective Medium

Isolate and cultivate Bordetella pertussis from clinical samples with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Bordetella Selective Medium. The medium utilizes Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Charcoal Agar as a base with the addition of cephalexin and M&B 938. Cephalexin significantly increases the isolation rate and the recovery rate of Bordetella pertussis by improving the inhibition of coliforms and many other microorganisms, while M&B 983 (4,4' diamidino-diphenylamine dihydrochloride) increases the selectivity of the medium by inhibiting antibiotic resistant flora
