Isolate fungi and differentiate and presumptively identify Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis from clinical specimens, with ready-to-use Thermo Scientific™ Brilliance™ Candida Agar / Sabouraud GC Agar, a single bi-plate which includes two separate formulations. The Sabouraud GC medium creates selective conditions for isolation and cultivation of fungi while Brilliance™ Candida Agar enables the isolation and differentiation of Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis from other Candida spp. within 48 hours. The convenient bi-plate format frees up incubation space.

Brilliance Candida Agar incorporates two chromogens that indicate the presence of the target enzymes. As a result, Candida tropicalis form dark blue colonies while Candida albicans form Green colored colonies.
