Description

Lithium batteryLithium perchlorate is used as an oxygen source for chemical oxygen generators, as it liberates oxygen at high temperatures. Excellent solubility of lithium perchlorate permits its use in Diels-Alder reactions. It is also employed in lithium-ion batteries as an electrolyte, and acts as a chaotropic agent to denature proteins. It is used in the Baylis-Hillman reaction as a catalyst in the coupling of alpha, beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds with aldehydes.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
