Description

2-Amino-4-methylpyridine has been used in the synthesis of 2-amino-4-methyl­pyridinium 2-hy­droxy­benzoate. It is potent inhibitor of NOS2 (iNOS) in vitro. It is used as pharmaceutical intermediate.

Applications

Solubility
Soluble in water (41 mg/ml at 20°C), lower alcohols (slightly), chloroform, ethyl acetate, and DMF.

Notes
Hygroscopic. Incompatible with oxidizing agents and moisture. Store under dry inert gas. Protect from humidity and water. Store at -20°C.
