Thermo Scientific Bsm DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment, is equivalent to Bst DNA polymerase, which catalyzes 5' → 3' synthesis of DNA and lacks 5' → 3' and 3' → 5' exonuclease activities. Sourced from E. coli cells with a cloned polA gene from Bacillus smithii, Bsm DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment, features strong strand displacement activity and is active in a wide range of temperatures (30–63°C), with an optimum of activity at 60°C. With high functional similarity to Bst DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment, this enzyme can serve as an alternative in most applications, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP).

Applications
Bsm DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment, may be used in a wide variety of applications including:
• Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)
• Whole genome amplification (WGA)
• Ramification amplification (RAM)
• Random-primed DNA labeling
• Labeling by fill-in 5'-overhangs of dsDNA
