Accurately and rapidly identify four of the main mastitis-causing microorganisms using Thermo Scientific™ PathoProof™ Major-4.2 Kits for the Applied Biosystems™ 7500 and 7500 Fast qPCR systems. Obtain results within four hours and identify the particular pathogen causing the infection by testing either fresh or preserved milk samples. Make faster decisions on treatment and reduce the time that an infective agent has to spread in a herd.
Good-quality raw milk must meet accepted standards for chemical composition and purity as well as levels of a variety of mastitis-causing microorganisms. Identify four of the main mastitis-causing microorganisms and the Staphylococcal β-lactamase gene responsible for the penicillin resistance in Staphylococci using PathoProof Major–4.2 multiplex PCR. All targeted species are detected simultaneously, overcoming the common problem of mixed growth results in bacterial culturing.

Assays are based on real-time PCR, an accurate and sensitive technology for identification of the target DNA in the sample. Tests can be used for analyzing fresh and preserved quarter milk samples, milk recording samples, and bulk tank milk samples.
Achieve high sensitivity, even for samples that show no growth in culture. Accurate detection of viable, dead, and growth-inhibited microorganisms reduces no-growth results.
