Thermo Scientific™ FHT 1388 S Modular Radiation Portal Monitor is a highly sensitive and highly reliable system for automatic and continuous radioactivity detection. It provides continuous radiation monitoring for moving trains and trucks, borders, and other crossing points.

The modular system adapts to different needs, allowing for a scalable operation dependent upon the types of traffic moving through the portal.
  • Large area plastic scintillation detectors for Γ radiation detection with data transfer via RS 485 from the detector array to the operators room up to 1000mUV-stabilized PE panel housing stays corrosion free even under demanding conditions
  • Low energetic radiation can penetrate PE material easily; not shielded from the sensitive large area gamma radiation detector
  • Immediate separation between NORM and artificial radiation through NBR (Natural Background Rejection) technology
  • Optional moderated He3 counting tube Neutron radiation detectors
  • Effective false alarm suppression through automatic background radiation learning and SIGMA alarm threshold setting
  • ADF (Advanced Digital Filter), an intelligent ratemeter function with a self adjusting time constant, providing automatic adaption to the velocity of a moving source or detector and to the variable intensity of radiation
  • Recognition of objects plus speed alarm triggering
  • Control of traffic lights, audible alarm indication via horn or visible via alarm lights
  • Windows™ XP based controller model FHT 8000 with 32 bit SGS2 software package
  • Automated protocol printing also on a network printer
