Descripción

Pentaethylene glycol is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of cyclic and noncyclic polyethers, complexing agents and immobilized phase-transfer catalysts. It acts as a catalyst for potassium hydroxide induced elimination reactions in benzene. Further, it is used in functional fluids and viscosity adjustors.

Aplicaciones
El pentaetilenglicol se utiliza como intermediario en la síntesis de poliéteres cíclicos y no cíclicos, agentes complejos y catalizadores de transferencia de fase inmovilizados. Actúa como catalizador para las reacciones de eliminación inducidas por hidróxido de potasio en el benceno. Además, se utiliza en fluidos funcionales y ajustadores de viscosidad.
