Perclorato de potasio, 99 %, Thermo Scientific Chemicals

Potassium perchlorate is used in ammunition percussion caps, explosive primers, fireworks and propellants. It acts as a solid rocket propellant. It is also used as an oxidizer in colored pyrotechnic compositions and flash powder. It is used as an antithyroid and involved in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. The mixture of anthracene and sulfur with potassium perchlorate is used for generating black smoke signaling.

Aplicaciones
El perclorato de potasio se utiliza en las cápsulas de percusión de municiones, cebadores explosivos, fuegos artificiales y propulsantes. Actúa como un propelente de cohetes sólido. También se utiliza como oxidante en composiciones pirotécnicas de color y polvo de destello. Se utiliza como antitiroideo y participa en el tratamiento del hipertiroidismo. La mezcla de antraceno y azufre con perclorato de potasio se utiliza para generar señales de humo negro.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua. Ligeramente soluble en acetona. Insoluble en etanol, acetato de etilo y éter.

Notas
Higroscópico. Incompatible con agentes reductores fuertes, metales en polvo, ácidos fuertes y alcoholes.
