Descripción

3-Chloropropiophenone was used in the asymmetric reduction of (S)-3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol using preheated Candida utilis cells immobilized in calcium alginate gel beads. It was also used in the synthesis of (R)-3-chloro-1-phenyl-1-propanol via asymmetric reduction using in-situ generated oxazaborolidine catalyst derived from (S)-α,α-diphenylprolinol. It is a precursor of phenyl vinyl ketone.

Aplicaciones
La 3-cloropropiofenona se utilizó en la reducción asimétrica de (S)-3-cloro-1-fenilpropanol mediante el uso de células de Candida utilis precalentadas inmovilizadas en partículas de gel de alginato de calcio. También se utilizó en la síntesis de (R)-3-cloro-1-fenil-1-propanol mediante reducción asimétrica utilizando el catalizador de oxazaborolidina generado in situ y derivado de (S)-α,α-difenilprolinol. Es un precursor del fenil vinilo cetona.

Solubilidad
Insoluble en agua.
