Descripción

(-)-Borneol is used to prepare its esters by reacting with acids. Its derivatives are used as chiral ligands in asymmetric synthesis. It is also used in flavors and perfumes. Further, it is used in traditional Chinese medicine as moxa. In addition to this, it is used as a component of many essential oils and also used as a natural insect repellent.

Aplicaciones
(-)-Borneol se utiliza para preparar sus ésteres reaccionando con ácidos. Sus derivados se utilizan como ligandos quirales en síntesis asimétricas. También se utiliza en sabores y perfumes. Además, se utiliza en la medicina tradicional China como moxa. Además de esto, se utiliza como componente de muchos aceites esenciales, así como repelente natural de insectos.

Solubilidad
Soluble en cloroformo, etanol, acetona, éter, benceno, tolueno, decalina y tetralina. Insoluble en agua.
