Descripción

3-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde acts as a precursor for the stereoselective synthesis of the anticancer drug (Z)-combretastatin A-4 and glycitein. It also used as an important raw material for the preparation of morphine. Further, it is involved in the preparation of Schiff- bases by reacting with furan-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide and thiophene-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide. In addition to this, it is used to prepare (Z)-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylidene)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-one by reacting with with1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-one.

Aplicaciones
El 3-hidroxi-4-metoxibenzaldehído actúa como precursor para la síntesis estereoselectiva del antineoplásico (Z)-combretastatina A-4 y gliciteína. También se utiliza como materia prima importante para la preparación de la morfina. Además, participa en la preparación de bases de Schiff reaccionando con hidrazida de ácido furan-2-carboxílico e hidrazida de ácido tiofen-2-carboxílico. Asimismo, se utiliza para preparar (Z)-2-(3-hidroxi-4-metoxibencilideno)-1-azabiciclo[2.2.2]octan-3-ona reaccionando con 1-azabiciclo[2.2.2]octan-3-ona.

Solubilidad
Soluble en acetona y metanol.
