Ethyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (ethylparaben) was used to study the in-situderivatisation solid-phase microextraction procedure for determining parabens, related chlorophenols and triclosan in water. It is a novel sorbent for solid-phase extraction, was used to study its retention property. It has high extraction efficiency towards the compounds tested owing to the electrostatic interaction, hydrophobic interaction and hydrogen bonding.

Aplicaciones
El 4-hidroxibenzoato de etilo (etilparabeno) se ha utilizado para estudiar el procedimiento de microextracción en fase sólida de derivación in-situ para determinar los parabenos, los clorofenoles relacionados y el triclosán en agua. Es un nuevo absorbente para la extracción en fase sólida que se ha utilizado para estudiar su propiedad de retención. Tiene una alta eficiencia de extracción en los compuestos evaluados debido a la interacción electrostática, la interacción hidrofóbica y los puentes de hidrógeno.

Ligeramente soluble en agua.
