1-Bromooctane is used in organic synthesis. It is also used as an extraction solvent in the determination of volatile organic compounds present in water samples. Further, it is used in the preparation of quaternary ammonium chloride-modified poly(propylenimine) dendrimers.

Aplicaciones
El 1-bromooctano se utiliza en la síntesis orgánica. También se utiliza como disolvente de extracción en la determinación de compuestos orgánicos volátiles presentes en muestras de agua. Además, se utiliza en la preparación de dendrímeros poli(propilenimina) modificados con cloruro de amonio cuaternario.
