Methylenediphosphonic acid is used as a radioactive imaging agent, which is primarily used in skeletal scintigraphy. Due to its absorption by a variety of tumors, it is useful for the detection of neoplasms.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua, dimetilsulfóxido y metanol. Ligeramente soluble en etanol anhidro. Insoluble en cloruro de metileno.
