Glycerol triacetate is used as a food additive and as a solvent in flavorings. It acts as an excipient in pharmaceutical products where it is used as a humectant and a plasticizer. It is also used as a fuel additive, as an antiknock agent, adhesives and sealant chemicals, fillers, intermediates and process regulators.

Aplicaciones
El triacetato de glicerol se utiliza como aditivo alimentario y como disolvente en los aromas. Actúa como excipiente en productos farmacéuticos, en los que se utiliza como humectante y plastificador. También se utiliza como aditivo de combustible, como agente antidetonante, en adhesivos y productos químicos selladores, rellenos, intermediarios y reguladores de procesos.

Solubilidad
Ligeramente miscible con agua, tetracloruro de carbono y carbondisulfuro. Miscible con acetona, etanol, benceno y cloroformo.

Notas
Sensible al calor. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
