Aplicaciones
Se utiliza como material de partida para la preparación de calixarenos funcionalizados. Se emplea como intermediario farmacéutico. También se utiliza en acomplejamiento y síntesis orgánica.

Solubilidad
0,180 g/100 g de agua a 25 °C. Miscible con alcohol, cloroformo, éter, disulfuro de carbono, acetona, aceites, tetracloruro de carbono y ácido acético glacial.
