Aplicaciones
Se puede utilizar una solución de bromuro de cinc como protector transparente contra la radiación. Se utiliza como catalizador óptimo para la reacción estereoespecífica y regioselectiva de los silaciclopropanos con compuestos carbonilos. Se aplica como ácido de Lewis en reacciones orgánicas.
