4',7-Dihydroxyisoflavone is a phytoestrogen that is suggested to play a role in preventing hormone-induced cancers. It protects against oxidative damage in liver cells induced by 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA). Catalase and superoxide dismutase activity, down-regulated by DMBA, was restored by daidzein.

Aplicaciones
La 4′,7-dihidroxiisoflavona es un fitoestrógeno presumiblemente implicado en la prevención de cánceres inducidos por hormonas. Protege del daño oxidativo en las células hepáticas inducido por el 7,12-dimetilbenz[a]antraceno (DMBA). La actividad de la catalasa y la dismutasa superóxido, inhibida por el DMBA, se restablecía con daidceína.
Solubilidad
Insoluble en agua. Soluble en DMSO (25 mg/ml), etanol (2 mg/ml), DMF (10 mg/ml) y DMSO:PBS en una proporción de 1:10 DMSO:PBS (pH 7,2) (0,15 mg/ml).
Notas
Estable en las condiciones de almacenamiento recomendadas. Incompatible con los agentes oxidantes y el calor.
