Descripción

(Chloromethylene)dimethylammonium chloride is used in the synthesis of beta-lactams, n-vinyl substituted indoles and fused 2-pyridone rings and 2-azetidinones. It is used as a formylating agent and used in the preparation of anti-poxvirus agents. It is used in Staudinger reaction and Hundsdiecker-barton iododecarboxylation reaction. It is widely used for studying organic photosensitizers, which finds application in dye-sensitized solar cells.

Aplicaciones
El cloruro de (clorometileno)dimetilamonio se utiliza en la síntesis de beta-lactamas, indoles n-vinil sustituidos y anillos de 2-piridona y 2-azetidinonas fusionados. Se utiliza como agente formativo y en la preparación de agentes antipoxvirus. Se utiliza en la reacción de Staudinger y en la reacción de yododecarboxilación de Hundsdiecker-Barton. Se utiliza ampliamente para el estudio de fotosensibilizadores orgánicos, con aplicación en células solares sensibilizadas por colorante.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua.

Nota
Sensible a la humedad. Puede descomponerse en agua o aire húmedo. Incompatible con bases, agentes oxidantes fuertes, aminas, metales y caucho butílico.
