Descripción

Triethyl phosphite is used as a ligand in organometallic chemistry and as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is used as reference to phosphoric acid standard in 31P NMR spectroscopy. It acts as a reducing agent to prepare 2-phenylindazole from o-nitrobenzylidineaniline as well as reacts with electrophiles to get phosphonates. It forms a stable complex with copper(I) iodide. It finds application in a modified Staudinger reaction for the alkyl bromide to an amine through the azide. Further, it is also used in the preparation of 3-phenyl-2-substituted indoles by reacting with beta-nitro styrenes.

Aplicaciones
El fosfito de trietilo se utiliza como ligando en química organometálica y como reactivo en síntesis orgánica. Se utiliza como referencia al estándar de ácido fosfórico en la espectroscopia de RMN 31P. Actúa como agente reductor para preparar 2-fenilindazol a partir de o-nitrobencilidinianilina, al igual que reacciona con electrófilos para obtener fosfonatos. Forma un complejo estable con yoduro de cobre(I). Se aplica en una reacción modificada de Staudinger para el bromuro de alquilo a una amina mediante la azida. Además, se utiliza también en la preparación de indoles 3-fenil-2-sustituidos al reaccionar con beta-nitroestirenos.

Solubilidad
Miscible con alcohol y éter. No miscible con agua.

Notas
Sensible al aire y a la humedad. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes y bases fuertes.
