Sulfuric acid has useful applications in domestic acidic drain cleaners, as a drying agent, as electrolytes in lead-acid batteries and various cleaning agents. It is also useful for mineral processing, fertilizer manufacture, oil refining, waste water processing and chemical synthesis. The sulfuric acid doped poly (m-aminophenol) is used as an aliphatic alcohol vapor sensor material. The catalytic decomposition of sulfuric acid on mixed Cr/Fe oxide shows useful application in sulfur-iodine cycle for hydrogen production.
