Enrich for Salmonella species from fecal and food samples with Thermo Scientific™ Selenite Lactose Broth in convenient prepared media tubes.
Selenite Lactose Broth is used for enrichment culture of salmonellae from feces, food products, water and other materials.
Sodium biselenite acts as the selective agent, while lactose is added as a fermentable carbohydrate to prevent a rise in pH value during incubation because any increase in pH will reduce the selective activity of selenite.
