Tergitol™ 7-Lactose-TTC Agar

Enumerate and differentiate coliforms from water and food samples with ready-to-use Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Tergitol™ 7-Lactose-TTC Agar. Tergitol 7 inhibits Gram-positive organisms allowing superior recovery of coliforms. The addition of tri-phenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) allows recognition and identification of Escherichia coli and Enterobacter aerogenes. Fermentation of lactose is seen by a change in colour of the pH indicator bromothymol blue. TTC is rapidly reduced to red formazan by most coliform organisms except E. coli and Enterobacter aerogenes allowing easy differentiation.

Use Tergitol 7-Lactose-TTC Agar for the detection and enumeration of coliforms in food and water samples.
