This rabbit anti-Tau polyclonal antibody kit is specific to TAU and is reactive to human. Rabbit anti-Tau polyclonal antibody kit recognizes the expressed product of the MAPT gene. Tau is a neuronal microtubule-associated protein found predominantly on axons and functions to promote tubulin polymerization and stabilize microtubules. Validated applications for rabbit anti-TAU polyclonal antibody kit are Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining.
Applications: Validated applications for rabbit anti-Tau polyclonal antibody kit are Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and Immunostaining.
Host species and isotype: The host species and isotype of the Tau polyclonal antibody kit is rabbit IgG.
Reactivity: Rabbit anti-Tau polyclonal antibody kit detects human TAU.
Product size: Rabbit anti-Tau polyclonal antibody kit is available in 1 kit pack size.
Tau is a neuronal microtubule-associated protein found predominantly on axons and functions to promote tubulin polymerization and stabilize microtubules. Tau, in its hyperphosphorylated form, is the major component of paired helical filaments (PHF), the building block of neurofibrillary lesions in Alzheimer's disease (AD) brain. Hyperphosphorylated Tau is also found in neurofibrillary lesions in a range of other central nervous system disorders. Hyperphosphorylation impairs the microtubule binding function of Tau, resulting in the destabilization of microtubules in AD brains, ultimately leading to the degeneration of the affected neurons. Numerous serine/threonine kinases including GSK-3β, protein kinase A (PKA), cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (cdk5) and casein kinase II (CK2), phosphorylate Tau. The Tau PSSA Sampler Pack allows one to readily study selective phosphoregulation of multiple sites along Tau. This can be extremely useful in kinase-directed experiments as well as Tau regulation studies.
