Description:
XD-6700 dosimeter element (Filter: None)

Extremity dosimeters are invaluable throughout the industrial, nuclear, medical and research industries in applications where whole body dosimeters are inadequate to provide the closest possible position to the radiation source. Thermo Scientific™ Single and Double Chipstrate EXT-RAD Extremity Dosimeters Elements are 1- or 2-element barcoded chipstrate dosimeters sealed into pouches and worn as reusable finger rings to monitor skin radiation exposure in personnel who handle unsealed radioactive materials. Each dosimeter has a unique barcode for identification and complete chain of custody.

Single and Double Chipstrate EXT-RAD Extremity Dosimeters Elements are suitable for extremity dosimetry applications and feature cold sterilization with efficient handling and processing.

  • Adjustable, reusable finger rings with elements in sealed pouches.
  • Barcoded carrier cards for readout after exposure.

Applications

  • At the glove box face
  • In fuel-handling cells
  • During fuel rod assembly
  • Re-fuelling
  • Clean-up operations and waste handling
  • De-commissioning
  • Radiochemistry
  • Cyclotron source preparation
  • Radiopharmaceutical production
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Radiology and radiotherapy

Cleaning
Rinse the dosimeters in analytical grade anhydrous methyl alcohol between normal uses. (Do not soak). Dry by leaving to evaporate for at least one hour. Anneal once before actual use, accurately following the established procedure. The anneal will also assist in removing any residual methyl alcohol.
