Isolator™ 1.5 Tube Blood Culture System for Processing Pediatric Samples

Achieve maximum recovery of organisms from pediatric blood specimens by blood cell lysis centrifugation using Thermo Scientific™ Isolator™ 1.5 Tubes. Each Isolator 1.5 Tube contains a sterile mixture of reagents designed to lyse the blood cells and prevent coagulation. The lysing of blood releases intracellular microorganisms which are then concentrated through centrifugation enhancing their recovery.

 The Isolator 1.5 Tubes are developed especially for paediatric use, designed to culture blood volume of just 0.5 – 1.5mL.

The blood system is normally a sterile environment, so the detection of bacteria in blood (bacteraemia) is always abnormal. Early detection of bacteraemia is of utmost importance because of the high mortality rates associated with this condition.
