BAPTA tetrasodium salt hydrateis a high quality and sensitive compound for calcium signaling studies(investigation of signal transduction and apoptotic cascades, and neuroscience research). BAPTA, Tetrasodium Salt is useful for spectrophotometric monitoring of extracellular Ca2+ levels, with very little sensitivity to pH. Has also been used for the measurement and control of Ca2+ levels in eggs, chromaffin cells, muscle cells, retinal cells, and pancreatic cells. BAPTA-Na4 is a fluorescent compound utilized to determine free Ca2+ by performing fluorescence emission scans at an excitation wavelength of 299 nm and measuring the emission wavelength at 360 nm.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
