HBSS (10X), no calcium, no magnesium, no phenol red

Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. Formulations without calcium and magnesium are required for rinsing chelators from the culture before cell dissociation. cGMP Manufacturing and Quality System
Gibco™ HBSS is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility, located in Grand Island, New York. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 standards. For supply chain continuity, we offer an identical Gibco™ HBSS product made in our Scotland facility (14185-045). This facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.

Concentrated forms of Gibco™ HBSS require sodium bicarbonate addition, pH adjustment, and filtration at the time of preparation (see protocol for details).

This product is not used for in vitro diagnostic purpose in some countries.
