Leibovitz's L-15 Medium supports the growth of HEP-2 monkey kidney cells and primary explants of embryonic and adult human tissue. L-15 is buffered by phosphates and free base amino acids instead of sodium bicarbonate. This medium is designed for supporting cell growth in environments without CO2 equilibration.

cGMP Manufacturing and Quality System
Gibco™ L-15 is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility, located in Paisley, Scotland, UK. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.
L-15 contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, L-15 requires supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
This product is not used for in vitro diagnostic purpose in some countries.
