Choose ExtendedLife (XL) preparative column hardware during your initial column purchase to be eligible for repacking services. All XL preparative columns are equipped with Dynamic Axial Compression technology to increase column lifetime. Return your XL column to Thermo Fisher to have it refreshed with high surface area C8 media for faster separations without paying for new hardware.
XL Column Repacking Service
Choose XtendedLife Hardware at Initial Purchase
- Improves column lifetime by incorporating an internal Dynamic Axial Compression (DAC) system, which ensures that constant tension is applied to the media and eliminates the risk of void formation during column use.
- High-quality media yields excellent lot-to-lot performance.
- Compatible with SFC upon request.
- Available in dimensions up to 50mm i.d.
When column performance is past optimal, use the XL repack service:
- Pay for just the media, not the hardware.
- Enjoy cost savings over time compared to purchasing standard hardware.
- Return your column to Thermo Fisher to have it repacked and sent back to you.
- After completing your purchase, our team will reach out to you with instructions on how to return your column.
Stationary Phase Details
Similar selectivity, less retention than C18 columns.
- Successful retention and separation of moderately hydrophobic analytes.
- Ideal for fatty acids, which are too hydrophobic for analysis using C18 columns.
- C8 (USP L7) selectivity.
- High surface area particles with 100Å pore size.
- pH stable from 2 to 8.
- Maximum temperature of 60°C.
