Convenience and Performance The MicroAmp™ 96-Well Tray/Retainer Set for Veriti™ Systems allows you to organize your tubes while adding sample and mix. This handy tray reduces spillage and tube mix-ups by securing and ordering your tubes on the lab bench. When the samples are ready, simply put the tray of tubes directly on the block of the Veriti™ 96-Well Thermal Cycler. Not only does the tray eliminate the hassle of transferring the tubes, but it also provides the thermal contact necessary for thermal cycling.

Why are my PCR tubes crushed/deformed after my PCR run?

The heated thermal cycler lid is designed to make sure that optimized pressure is applied on the microplate for an efficient PCR reaction. When using PCR tubes, excess pressure on the tubes, from the heated lid can cause deformation of the tubes. To avoid this, we recommend using the Tray/Retainer set, as shown below:

Why does the SimpliAmp Thermal Cycler starter kit contain two different types of trays?

The two different types of trays are for use with different tubes:

-MicroAmp 96-well Tray/Retainer Set for Veriti Systems (Cat. No. 4381850) - this tray is for use with 0.2 mL single tubes without caps (Cat. Nos. N8010533, N8011533), 0.2 mL 8-tube strip with attached dome caps (Cat. No. A30589), and 0.2 mL tube strips without caps (Cat. No. 4316567)
-MicroAmp 96-well Tray for VeriFlex Blocks (Cat. No. 4379983) - this tray is for use with 0.2 mL single tubes with caps (Cat. Nos. N8010540, N8011540)

Can I run strip tubes on the ViiA 7 instrument?

Yes. Make sure to use the appropriate matching parts. For the 96-well standard block, use the standard 96-well plate adapter (Cat. No. 4459845), the retainer tray for (0.2 mL) tubes, and Optical 8-Tube Strips and Caps (Cat. No. 4316567 and 4323032). For the 96-well Fast block, use the Fast 96-well plate adapter (Cat. No. 4462078), the retainer tray (Cat. No. 4379983), and Fast (0.1 mL) Optical 8-tube Caps and Strips (Cat. Nos. 4323032 and 4358293).
