Expi293™ Expression System Kit

The Expi293 Expression System is a complete, scalable platform for rapid, high-yield transient protein production from mammalian HEK293 cells. The system includes: high-density Expi293F cells in Expi293 Expression Medium and ExpiFectamine 293 transfection reagent optimized with enhancers to maximize protein production and reproducibility.

• Complete kit—contains all components needed for efficient, recombinant protein expression with easy-to-follow culture and transfection protocols
• Up to 1 g/L of protein—2- to 10-fold higher protein yields than previous generation transient expression systems, such as the FreeStyle 293 Expression System
• Rapid production—rapid expression of recombinant proteins in just 2–7 days for a wide variety of protein formats from integral membrane proteins to monoclonal antibodies
• High density cultures—high-density Expi293F cultures yield significantly more protein-expressing cells per mL, boosting expression efficiency
• Native folding and mammalian post-translational modifications—proteins are expressed from human HEK293 cells resulting in a high degree of glycosylation and quality
• Scalable expression from <1 mL to >10 L—easily scalable and automation friendly from 96 deepwell plates for high throughput applications to multi-liter bioreactor platforms

The components included in the Expi293 Expression System Kit are: two vials of frozen Expi293F cells, one liter of Expi293 Expression Medium, one ExpiFectamine 293 Transfection kit sufficient to transfect up to 1 liter of final culture, Opti-MEM I Reduced Serum Medium complexation buffer, and an antibody-expressing positive control vector. Expi293 Transfection kits are also available in large-scale formats for transfecting up to 10 L and 50 L of Expi293 cells. Custom formats and volumes are also available upon request.

Engineered Expi293F cell lines are available for a range of structural biology applications, including Cryo-EM, NMR, and X-ray crystallography. Available individually or in kits.
