TaqMan™ MON89788 and Roundup Ready™ Soya Event ID Kit

The Thermo Scientific™ TaqMan™ MON89788 and Roundup Ready™ Soya Event ID Kit enables real-time PCR detection of MON89788 and Roundup Ready™ transgenic soybean DNA in a sample. The kit detects a percentage >0.01% of MON89788 and Roundup Ready™ transgenic soybean DNA. The kit is ISO 9001 and 14001 compliant.

Key features of the kit include:

• All reagents necessary for the real‐time PCR reaction—specific FAM™-labeled probe and primers for MON89788 DNA, VIC™-labeled probe and primers for Roundup Ready™ DNA, nucleotides, MgCl₂, DNA polymerase enzyme, and other buffer components.
• An internal positive control (IPC)—NED™-labeled probe, primers, and template, to monitor for PCR inhibition.
• A Positive Control—synthetic DNA containing target sequences corresponding to 0.1% to Roundup Ready™ soya and 0.1% MON89788. The assay is compatible with Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio 5™ real-time PCR system.

Sample Preparation

DNA sample preparation is accomplished with the easy-to-use GMO Extraction Kit (Cat. No. 4466336). Using up to 20 g of sample rather than the smaller sample sizes accommodated by most other DNA isolation procedures minimizes sampling errors. The GMO Extraction Kit is compatible with raw and processed meat, as well as composite food samples.
