TrueMark™ Comprehensive Microbiota Control

The TrueMark Comprehensive Microbiota Control contains a linearized multi-target plasmid pool with microbial target sequences commonly used on Custom OpenArray panels. The control has targets relevant to many microbial profiling applications, including respiratory tract, urinary tract, vaginal microbiota, and antibiotic resistance research. The control can be included as a positive control for panel-specific amplification. It is available in two concentrations: 1 x 10⁵ and 5 x 10⁷ copies/μL. The higher concentration can be used to determine parameters necessary for analytical validation (e.g., limit of detection and Ct cut-off values).

The plasmid also contains target sequences for TaqMan Universal RNA Spike In/Reverse Transcription (Xeno) Control, TaqMan Universal Extraction Control Organism (B. atrophaeus), and the human RNase P RPPH1 gene. During real-time PCR, the control can be used as a stand-alone sample to verify assay performance and to help with troubleshooting.

Note: This product will be updated on an annual basis to ensure coverage of the most popular microbial targets, and performance will be measured to ensure consistency between versions.

Version history

Version 1 of this product was first available in April 2021 and contained 471 microbial assay targets.

Version 2 became available in October 2021 and contains an additional 83 microbial assay targets.

Version 3 became avalible in March 2023 and contains an additional 139 microbial and antibiotic resistant targets.

Version 4 became available in February 2025 and contains an additional 150 microbial and antibiotic resistant targets.
