Combining the rigidity of a polycarbonate frame with thin-walled polypropylene wells, the Armadillo plate provides superior thermal cycling performance under all conditions without warping. These 384-well plates are clear, with white wells.

• Raised rim design—improved well surface area improves seal integrity in automated heat sealing

What is a low profile Thermo Scientific plate/tube?

Low profile Thermo Scientific PCR plastics have shorter wells than the standard profile plastics, decreasing the “dead space” between the heated lid of the thermal cycler and the sample. This eliminates condensation on the side wall of the tube, preventing reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction.

Why should I use Thermo Scientific white plastics in qPCR?

White plates and tubes reflect significantly more signal back to the qPCR instrument's detector than traditional clear plates. The improved signal reflection ensures that even the lowest levels of fluorescence are detected. White well walls also prevent signal from passing through to the cycler block where it can be inconsistently reflected or absorbed. This keeps variations in the cycler block from affecting qPCR data. Using Thermo Scientific white PCR plastics increases sensitivity and reduces variability within the qPCR assay.

Are Thermo Scientific ABgene plastics endotoxin-free?

They are not certified endotoxin-free. However, their entire production process, from molding to final packaging, is carried out in a Class 100,000 clean room under ISO 9001 guidelines. All Thermo Scientific PCR plastics are certified free from RNase, DNase and human DNA.
