세포 비투과성 pH 표지자인 carboxy SNARF™-1 dye는 pKa가 ∼7.5로 pH 7 ∼pH 8 사이 pH 변화 측정에 유용합니다. Carboxy-SNARF™-1는 유의한 pH 의존성 방출 변화를 보여 산성과 염기에서 각각 연주황색과 짙은 적색 형광을 띱니다. 이런 pH 의존성으로 두 가지 방출 파장(대개 – typically 580 nm 및 640 nm –)에서 염료의 형광 강도비를 사용해 pH 정량 분석을 할 수 있습니다.
