Heart Infusion Broth (Dehydrated)

Cultivate streptococci, pneumococci, meningococci and other fastidious organisms with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Heart Infusion Broth (Dehydrated). The medium is highly nutritious and well buffered to support the growth of wide variety of organisms.

Heart Infusion Broth is developed to give the same performance characteristics as Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) Broth. However, as bovine brain is a specified risk material, the exclusion of it from the Heart Infusion Broth means that it carries a lower regulatory burden.

Cultivate a wide variety of organisms with Heart Infusion Broth.

• Developed to give equivalent performance to Brain Heart Infusion Broth while significantly reducing the regulatory burden due to the exclusion of calf brain infusion.
• Addition of anti-microbial agents such as cycloheximide and chloramphenicol make this medium suitable for the cultivation of yeasts and molds.
