It is designed for synthesis of mRNA in the development and manufacturing of mRNA therapeutics and vaccines. As an DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, it synthesizes RNA 5'→3' from linear DNA containing the T7 promoter (TAATACGACTCACTATAGGGAGA).
