Thermo Scientific GeneJET™ Stabilized and Fresh Whole Blood RNA Kit is designed for rapid and efficient purification of high quality total RNA from various whole blood samples: fresh, frozen, or human blood samples stabilized with commercial stabilizers such as Tempus™ and PAXgene™.

The kit utilizes silica-based membrane technology in the form of a convenient spin column, eliminating the need for expensive resins, toxic phenol-chloroform extractions, or time-consuming alcohol precipitation. The kit includes a DNase l for the enzymatic removal of genomic DNA. RNA can be isolated from whole blood in less than 30 minutes (including cell lysis and DNase l treatment).

Highlights

  • Versatile—compatible with fresh and frozen blood, buffy coat, as well as blood collected in PAXgene™and Tempus™ Tubes
  • Convenient—specially optimized Lysis Buffer is suitable for RNA stabilization up to 48 h
  • Efficient—up to 4 μg of total RNA from 500 μL of healthy human blood
  • Pure—isolates intact total RNA free of any RT-qPCR inhibitors

Applications

Isolated total RNA can be used in:

  • RT-PCR
  • RT-qPCR
  • Northern Blotting

자주 묻는 질문(FAQ)

Can I use water instead of Elution Buffer in the elution step of GeneJET and MagJET nucleic acid purification kits?

We would highly recommend using the provided Elution Buffer in the elution step for best results. You may use nuclease-free water; however, it may affect the yield of the nucleic acids during purification and their stability during storage.

Is any GeneJET kit suitable for RNA purification from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded FFPE tissues?

We cannot recommend GeneJET kits for RNA purification from FFPE tissues. In case of genomic DNA purififcation from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples, we recommend GeneJET FFPE DNA Purification Kit.

Are MagJET and GeneJET blood nucleic acid purification kits compatible with animal blood?

Yes, the kits are compatible with animal blood for DNA/RNA purification.

Can I use a vacuum manifold with GeneJET kits?

The GeneJET spin columns are compatible with vacuum manifolds of standard size (e.g. Qiagen, Sigma-Aldrich, Promega). However, not all GeneJET kits are supported with a vacuum protocol. Please refer to the particular kit protocol for the detailed procedure.

At what temperature should I perform centrifugation steps in the GeneJET kits?

We recommend performing centrifugation steps at room temperature when the temperature is not specified.
