About Bolt Bis-Tris Plus Gels

Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels are high-performance precast polyacrylamide gels designed to provide optimal broad range separation of proteins under denaturing conditions. These gels operate at a neutral pH, minimizing protein modifications and ensuring protein integrity, making them ideal for western blot transfer and analysis. The unique WedgeWell design allows for up to 2X more sample volume loading than conventional precast gels, facilitating detection of proteins in extremely diluted samples or visualization of low-abundance proteins. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus Gels, combined with Bolt LDS Sample Buffer and the Invitrogen NuPAGE Antioxidant running buffer additive, deliver sharp, clear protein bands, preserving protein integrity throughout electrophoresis. Stable at room temperature, these gels are a practical and efficient choice for your lab.

Separation

For running Invitrogen protein gels, you have the flexibility to use either the Mini Gel Tank (A25977) or the XCell SureLock Mini-Cell (EI0001). Both systems are designed to provide optimal performance. The Mini Gel Tank's unique side-by-side design offers efficient and convenient electrophoresis for both precast and SureCast handcast mini gels. Alternatively, the XCell SureLock Mini-Cell allows quick, easy, and leak-free running of mini gels, without the need for any clamps. This compatibility gives you the freedom to choose the best tool for your specific lab and experiment requirements. Additionally, the Mini Gel Tank is conveniently available through Invitrogen Precast Gel Welcome Packs along with both sample buffer and reducing agent, providing an all-in-one solution for your electrophoresis needs.

Transfer

For transferring your proteins to a membrane, we recommend using for Bolt Transfer Buffer (BT0006) for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blot Module (B1000). Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device (IB21001).
